Hello Audacious Readers!  

We are now officially in Spooky Season and I think this latest read might give you chills. Last month’s read, The Black God’s Drums by P. Djèlí Clark, gave a thrill as we raced to stop disaster in an alternative universe New Orleans. Now, prepare for thigns to get vampy with this month’s read, Immortal Dark by Tigest Girma.

 Kidan Adane is an orphaned heiress that grew up far from the arcane society attached to her bloodline, one in which humans gain power through companionship with vampires. Despite this, she and her sister, June, have grown up fearing the creatures. But when June disappears, Kidan knows all roads lead to the vampire bound to her family: Susenyos Sagad. Seeing this Kidan comes up with a plan: Find a way into Uxlay University, where she can inherit her family legacy, find her sister, and kill Susenyos.

One roadbloack she doesn’t see coming is having to share her family home with the very vampire she suspects. Susenyos is cruel but captivating, pushing Kidan to the edge for his own gain, but she refuses to give up. As her rage boils over, Kidan sinks deeper into the world of vampires and discovers a centuries-old threat that looms over the entire university. But she’s not shying away from the challenge—nor the blood it will takes to survive.
